Yeah, I will take the winch off and go from there. I already removed the hook. It'll make a good Saturday morning project. I have been looking at cables on e-bay. I'll work on this after vacation! See y'all later.

Winch question
Yesterday I really f-ed up my winch on the trails. I have a Warn 2.5 with a 50 ft. cable. I was winching a sport quad up a steep hill and the cable is all bound up on one side and will not budge. I tried putting the clutch on manual and wrapping the excess around a tree and backing up to pull it free. I need a new cable...it was starting to show signs of kinking and fraying a little anyway.
So, my question is... I really don't want to take the winch motor off the plate. I just want to cut the old cable out and buy a replacement cable. Anyone have any experience with this? I have a feeling I will end up taking the whole damm thing off, but thought I would see if anyone had a good idea.

I thought Noah's kids were married; therefore, there would have been couples to re-populate... I'm not for sure, but that is I believe.

I prefer Cabela's over Bass Pro. In fact, I just ordered some chit from them and it arrived yesterday. We have a Bass Pro Shop in Cinci, OH, and I was there this Summer. I happened upon it by accident. I have been to the Cabela's in Wheeling, WV, as well. Both are impressive to visit... I just like Cabela's a little more. I believe they are thinking of opening either a BPS or Cabela's in northern Ohio in 2009...I can't remember which one. I think it would be cool to work there on the weekends. I have Gander Mountain about two miles down the road from where I work, but they are NOTHING compared to Cabela's and BPS.

Hey Rhett -
I just read all these posts. Ya know, I live in Wayne County as well, right on the border of Stark and Wayne. I guess I don't understand why you are so hell bent on them not riding on the trails?! I have about 60+ acres of trails I can access of my back yard. I don't own all 60; probably only about 1.5 acres, but all kinds of people ride and hunt and hike and do whatever in the woods. I've passed hunters in deer stands that freakin scared ****t out of me 'cause I didn't see them until the last second. I've met other guys riding and introduced myself to them. One guy lives down the street and was getting ready to deploy to Iraq in a couple weeks. He was out with his kids riding them around.
Down the street from me are some sweet trails once you pass thru this farmer's corn field (which there is a convenient path). I have no clue who owns that land, but I ride there, too. Again, a lot of people do. Maybe we just all respect each other's land and feel privileged to share it with one another. You mentioned that these guys are adults, so I would hope that they are being mindful of the land and not abusing it.
I just wanted to share my perspective on this issue. I have a feeling most of y'all won't agree with it, however.
...Or, maybe I missed the point completely. I dunno.
